Charleston Vigil for Voting Rights

This event marks the 54th anniversary of the signing of the landmark Voting Rights Act of 1965, one of the most important pieces of civil rights legislation in our country's history. The impact of the VRA has weakened significantly since 2010, with 25 states passing voting restrictions and the US Supreme Court emboldening partisan gerrymandering and empowering districts with a known history of targeted voter suppression.
